What is a Gravel Bike?

Gravel bikes have become very popular, they have the drop handlebars of a traditional Road Bike, but with the added functionality of a modern Hybrid Bike. 

Some of the key differences compared to a normal Road Bike include:- increased frame clearance for wider grippy tyres and a wider flared handlebar for more control and stability.

Many people choose a Gravel bike as an ideal winter bike for dirty roads, but they make a great all rounder all year round, enabling the owner to explore roads and tracks they would otherwise avoid on a normal road bike, but without the weight and speed penalty of a Hybrid or Mountain Bike.

 To maximise the bikes versatility and make the most of the bike, depending on the prevailing conditions, the owner can choose to fit narrow Road tyres for Summer use and refit Gravel tyres for Winter use.
